KRAUSS STARTS THE CONSTRUCTION OF A STATE OF THE ART SAWMILL IN CESVAINE

KRAUSS, the European leader in sawing birch logs and producing solid birch products, started construction of a state of the art sawmill in Cesvaine municipality.

Despite the challenging events in the world, which have a significant impact on the timber industry, KRAUSS has started the implementation of a 17 million EUR investment project in a sawmill in Cesvaine parish, Madona municipality.

We are proud that the construction of the sawmill has started and the company is moving closer to new production speeds. To mark this remarkable event, on 25th of October, owners of the company - Gatis Gulbis, Jānis Valerts and Igors Mašals - laid a time capsule with a message for future generations in the foundations of the new sawmill - Who knows how the company's current ambitions will be judged decades or centuries from now?

The new sawmill project consists of the construction of a state-of-the-art hardwood sawmill building, the installation of new technological equipment and the improvement of the infrastructure. The new equipment will form a single technological production line, ensuring high productivity and an environmentally friendly production process.

The planned completion date for the whole project is autumn 2024.
